Waterton Lakes Lodge is an 'environmentally friendly resort' located in the centre of the village of Waterton in the heart of the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park, spanning the Canadian-United States border. This World Heritage Site is where the majestic Rocky Mountains rise suddenly out of the rolling prairie grassland. Activities are nature based and include snow-shoeing, cross-country skiing, horseback riding through the mountains, golf, tennis, bird watching, hiking, scenic boat tours, sport fishing, wind surfing or simply swimming. The resort has 80 well-appointed guest rooms in nine buildings, which can best be described as a series of country inns with a variety of room sizes and features. The hotel also has a 21-bed hostel, operated under an associate license agreement with Hostelling International. Lodge rooms have either one queen bed and a double pull out bed or 2 queen beds that can accommodate up to quad occupancy based on sharing existing beds. Each guest room features a comfortable environmentally themed decor, complimentary coffee/tea, remote control colour TV and VCR, data port hookups, ceiling fan, air conditioning and hairdryer. The Beargrass Lodge features a distinctive dining experience while the Bighorn Grill is accompanied by the Wolf`s Den, an intimate lounge with spectacular views. Modern conference facilities complete The Beargrass Lodge. Guests have complimentary access to the Waterton Health Club and Recreation Centre - a community and guest recreation centre, which features an indoor saltwater swimming pool, whirlpool, complete workout facility and heath club amenities. |
