Situated on the banks of the River Tweed overlooking the home of Sir Walter Scott, 'Abbotsford House', this wonderful 4 star hotel was originally built in 1869 for a local textile mill owner. The property reflects the ambiance of the Victorian era, built in the style of a Scots Baronial Mansion the hotel retains many of the original features. The hotels public areas include a fantastic conservatory and an established grape vine. Wonderful marble columns and ornate cornicing are some of the features found throughout the house. The restaurant is well known locally for its use of local produce to prepare fine cuisine. All eleven bedrooms are of good size offering all conveniences expected of a modern 4 star hotel. |
