This is a good product set in a fantastic part of Finland. 02/08TC The Rantasipi Laajavuori is set outside the town of Jyvaskyla amidst beautiful surroundings. As well as the large lake next to which the hotel stands, dense forests stretch for miles around in this area which is famous for producing world-class rally drivers. A short distance from the hotel there is a ski jump centre and other skiing facilities. |

It is an attractive structure, which has an exterior mixing sharply-angled glass facades over the main entrance, with light brown brickwork. |

The alex stands next to its sister hotel the alexandra in the centre of Jyvaskyla. All the cities amenities and attractions, as well as the lake, are within easy walking distance. The hotel is a fairly standard grey concrete building, typical of contemporary Finnish architecture. Despite being linked via a walkway to the alexandra, the alex retains a quite different feel and is a very separate product. The interior is modern throughout, with odd touches of 'traditional' furniture. The standard of decor in both the public areas and bedrooms is perfectly acceptable, and well-kept, although obviously not to the standard of the alexandra. Bedrooms are quite compact, with blue furnishings and extremely modern cupboard and table units. In all, the hotel offers a good product for its category. 05 aug 98 |

The Yopuu is a charming hotel in the heart of Jyvoskyl. The hotel is in a historical building echoing back to the 1920s with comtemporary details. The rooms have been personally decorated and renovated in 2000 and each has an ensuite bathroom, minibar, TV, telephone and hairdryer. All the rooms are non smoking. The hotel also has wireless internet access. Built 1928, renovated 2006. 26 rooms, 3 floors. |
